Welcome to Care in Training CIC!

Hello, and thank you for visiting. My name is Elaine Burston, and I’m delighted to introduce you to Care in Training CIC. I’m a teacher, coach, counsellor, and public health specialist, and for over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with learners from all walks of life. My journey has taken me across the voluntary and private sectors, from schools and colleges to community projects and local authorities—all united by a common goal: to support individuals in achieving their full potential.

At Care in Training, we believe that everyone should have access to high-quality education, whether they’re looking to upskill, change careers, or simply learn something new. Many of the learners I work with have faced barriers—whether it’s past experiences with education, family commitments, or other challenges. We understand these hurdles and work closely with each person to provide flexible, personalised, and supportive learning that meets their unique needs.

My particular passion lies in creating community-focused education projects that help reduce social and health inequalities. I recognise that success isn’t always a matter of personal choice; it’s often shaped by social determinants that can make opportunity seem out of reach. For many access to training that builds real career pathways can feel limited, and Care in Training exists to help bridge that gap.

In recognition of my commitment to education and community well-being, I was recently elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). This honour reflects my dedication to inspiring innovative approaches to education, social change, and public health. It’s a role that motivates me even further to create pathways for learners, supporting their ambitions and celebrating each achievement along the way.

I’m immensely proud of the journeys our learners undertake, from achieving qualifications and building confidence to moving into careers they never thought possible. When I see students progress to higher education, change career or even feel more equipped to take care of their own well-being, I know we’re making a difference.

My work and mission here at Care in Training are driven by a belief that everyone deserves a chance to learn, grow, and thrive. I look forward to welcoming you, supporting your goals, and celebrating your achievements with us.

Warm regards,
Elaine Burston
