Welcome to Care in Training CIC!
Hello, and thank you for visiting. I’m Elaine Burston, founder of Care in Training CIC, a non-profit dedicated to making health education accessible and empowering communities.
Growing up in the Rhondda Valleys of South Wales, I saw firsthand how deprivation and misinformation affected health outcomes. Like many, I left school early, believing opportunities were out of reach. But in my 30s, I returned to education, earning a Master’s in Medical Anthropology and training as a teacher and health educator. With nearly 30 years of experience, I’ve seen how barriers to education limit opportunities, particularly in underserved communities.
That’s why I created Care in Training: to bridge the gap between knowledge and opportunity. We provide accredited, practical training, partnering with the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) to equip learners with the skills to improve their well-being and support healthier communities.
My work is driven by a passion for reducing social and health inequalities. I know that success isn’t just about personal choice—it’s about access to opportunity. As a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), I’m committed to creating community-driven education that inspires change.
I’m incredibly proud of our learners—whether they’re gaining qualifications, changing careers, or simply feeling more confident in their health choices. Care in Training exists to ensure everyone has the chance to learn, grow, and thrive.
I look forward to welcoming you and supporting your journey.
Warm regards,
Elaine Burston
Director, Care in Training CIC
